As a fair warning to everyone if you 9.22337204 quadrillion (9.22337204 × 1018) dollars in the bank your money will break and you will suddenly have -9.22337204 quadrillion dollars in the bank, good luck
It is not on the actual server yet, just the dev server (which is not on all the time). The economy system also does not yet have a way to buy and sell blocks yet. If you can think of a good way to do this I will implement it by the end of the day. My best idea was to make it /buy itemname /price itemname /sell itemname /list
That's one way. Back in the ancient Mayor days, I had an idea for a protected "auction house". It contained 2 signs for EVERY block in the game, organized by type [metal(including diamonds), stone blocks, wool, tools etc.]. The items also increased slightly in price with every one people bought, and decreased with every one people sold as well... All you had to do was right click on the sign for buying if you wanted to buy, and right click on the sign for selling if you wanted to sell. You might also be able to have it prompt you asking for how many you want to buy/sell to decrease time spent.
I think that the way it will work is a /buy . The prices will stay constant because there are other ways of obtaining gold then selling blocks (killing mobs, and mining) so that makes me think that the price of blocks will just slowly rise. You can sell blocks for half the price that you can buy them for or you can set up chests full of items with signs (similar to what you describe) to either buy or sell a specific item at whatever price you want
I suppose it would be cool to make it so that when you enter a store your inventory turns into the 'creative mode inventory' and you can buy and sell blocks by dragging and dropping them into and out of the list of items, but I don't know how to do that yet, still something to work on.
Idea: is it possible to create "wormhole" chests? I.E. a pair of chests who's inventories are linked? If so, each person could establish a permanent home with one chest in it. They could then access another chest in the store that would link their player account to their home base's chest. They could drag and drop items in and out of that chest to buy/sell them respectively. This idea is predicated upon you figuring out how to give us creative mode inventories when in the store though...
BRILLIANT IDEA: Establish a stargate at home base. Use the mod that made stargates between WORLDS. Have a creative world in which players could buy/sell items to the global shop. This maintains your easy coding experience (relatively) and still lets us have the experience of going shopping! We could even establish stargates at various important locations that went to the shop-world. ex. At spawn, in the redstone village, richville, etc/
wow, that is actually brilliant. I am going to do something like that right now, not sure if it will be stargates but something similar to jump to the 'shop world'
Does this mean that the economy system is up?

ReplyDeleteI kinda liked the idea of having to go to the store to get your stuff, but whatever; that'll work too.
